This Cookie Policy explains what the 27UsedCar website stores in your browser and how you can control it. The website is operated by XXXX Auto Trading Co., Ltd. This policy supplements our Privacy Policy.
Cookies and similar storage
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. Websites can also use session storage, which works in a similar way but is usually cleared when you close the tab. In this policy, "cookies" covers both.
What we set by default
By default we set only essential items. They make the features you use work and remember the choices you make. They are not used to follow you across other websites. Apart from an unsent inquiry, which holds only what you typed into a form yourself, they contain nothing that identifies you by name.
- NEXT_LOCALE — first-party cookie. Remembers the language you selected. Kept for 12 months.
- usedcar_destination — first-party session cookie. Set only when you choose a destination country or port in the cost estimate on a vehicle page, and holds only the country code and port number. When you open another car in the same browser session, its estimate opens with that destination and is recalculated with that car's current fees. Deleted when your browser session ends; some browsers keep it when they restore a previous session.
- Unsent inquiries — session storage, in items whose names start with usedcar-inquiry. They keep what you have typed into an inquiry form but not yet sent, such as your name, contact details, message and chosen options, so that it is not lost if the page reloads. Each car or page has its own saved form, kept separately for each account and for guests. Nothing is sent to us until you submit the form. A saved form is deleted once you have sent it, and all saved forms are deleted when you sign out or switch accounts. Otherwise they are usually deleted when you close the tab; some browsers restore them with a previous session. If your browser blocks storage, what you type is kept only while the page is open.
- usedcar_member_return — session storage. Set only when you click the heart to save a car while not signed in. It records the page on this website to return to, including your current filters, and how far down the page you were. When you come back to that page after signing in or registering, the position is restored and the item is deleted at once. Otherwise it is usually deleted when you close the tab. It holds no contact details and is not used for tracking.
- Map cache — browser cache, not a cookie. When you view a vehicle location map, your browser may keep the map tiles it has downloaded, so the map shows faster next time. It holds only public map data and nothing about you. Kept until you clear your browser's site data.
- uc_member_csrf — first-party cookie. A random security token that protects sign-in and account forms against cross-site request forgery. It is not a password and is not used to identify you. Kept for up to 12 months.
- uc_member_session — first-party cookie. Keeps you signed in to your account after you sign in. Scripts on the page cannot read it, and it is sent only over secure connections. Kept for up to 14 days; signing out ends it sooner.
None of the items listed above is sent to any company other than us. The vehicle location map is loaded by your browser directly from another service, as described below.
Vehicle location map
A vehicle page uses a map to show the city where the car is and the default departure port. It goes no further than city level and never shows the exact address where the car is kept. The map is provided by OpenFreeMap, with map data from OpenStreetMap. Your browser loads the map tiles and fonts directly from OpenFreeMap's servers (tiles.openfreemap.org), and only when you scroll near the map.
OpenFreeMap sets no cookies and uses no tracking technologies. As with any website, its servers receive your IP address and technical information from your browser. According to its privacy policy, its access logs do not record IP addresses by default; error logs may record the IP address and the requested URL and are deleted after 7 days; IP addresses may be logged temporarily while a security incident is handled, for no more than 30 days; and content may be delivered through Cloudflare. OpenFreeMap is run by Hyperknot Software Kft. in Hungary; its privacy policy is at openfreemap.org/privacy.
If you prefer not to load the map, you can block tiles.openfreemap.org in your browser or with a content blocker. The page then shows no map, and everything else keeps working.
What we do not use
We do not use analytics cookies, advertising or retargeting cookies, or social media pixels.
Our fonts are served from our own servers, not loaded from third parties. The share buttons are plain links: nothing is loaded from WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, X, VK or any other platform until you click one, and from then on that platform's own terms apply.
If we decide to add analytics or any other optional category, it will stay switched off until you agree, and we will update this policy before it is introduced.
Managing cookies and site data
At present we set only the essential items listed above. There are no optional items that need your consent, so there is no separate Cookie settings page. If we add optional items such as analytics in future, we will ask for your consent first and give you a way to change your choice at any time.
You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Most browsers explain how in their help pages. If you block the essential items, the website still works, but it will not remember your language or destination, an inquiry you have not sent is kept only while the page is open, and you will not be able to sign in to an account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when we change a feature that stores information in your browser. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
